Dear Rainbow family, just got back to England from the Rainbow gathering on
Tara hill in Ireland. The day after a beautiful fire to celebrate autumn
equinox we reached consensus to continue our vision of circling these
beautiful islands by gathering in Wales next spring, centred around the
nearest full moon to Beltaine. Those who wish to bring focus to the
scouting and the seed camp will gather at stone henge on the spring
equinox, to cirlce after the equinox vigil. Other things that came up in
the vision council were requests to be united, vigilant and compassionate
in our stand against those consuming alcohol and other drugs coming into
communal spaces at the gatherings and the need to have regional full moon
meetings where we can share our visions of the rainbow during the autumn

Do you know there were originally a number of points upon which rhe original
Rainbow Gatherings were founded-this is according to Charan Das one of the
founders- one of which was the stated aim of Legallising Canabis! You may
consense as much as you like but you will never arrive at a true consensus
on this issue because at this point in our evolution one does not exist
within the Rainbow on this issue. This extends to LSD, particularly among
American Brothers and Sisters.
We need to GET OFF this belief that a so-called consensus among a group of
Rainbow people arrived at a specific gathering can dictate to all: a
conensus means EVERYBODY without exclusion, whether they are in that
particular circle or not. The place we are evolving toward, Collective Mind,
does not practice exclusion, this state is called Neurosis or in extreme
cases: Psychosis!
My personal view, as a long-time high-level spiritual practicioner is that
we cannot enter into the highest states while using canabis for example, as
it erodes will and can inapropriately stimulate energy winds, but these
substances definitely helped me on the path at times and I thik this goes
for most of us. Sometimes we seem to express ourselves with the crusading
zeal of ex-alchoholics!

Exclusion is the point... What to do and what to think when some brothers and sisters who don't smoke, who don't use any drug don't feel comfortable within a group of drug addicts ? Don't you think that they could feel a kind of exclusion ? Especially when trying to start a dance or a music all together in harmony is impossible because those who are under drug effect are lazy and "coooooooool man" or closed up in a total schizophrenia. And also when they point to those who don't use drugs as purists or paranoids.
My australian experience of a crazy festival like a rainbow gathering with very few people to smoke showed that a gathering of people without drug has a better impact and a higher level of energy as ever.
Anyway, even if understandable it is too late now. Too many people need their drug either in Rainbow gatherings or in "Babylon" and are convinced that it is "natural" so... "if it is it is"...

To paraphrase a Tibetan prophesy concerning our times, there are a billion Rainbow people who share our collective karma (as distinct from the wider collective) so what you are experiencing as an "invasion" is simply, I am sorry my dear, simply the next wave of refugees. In Love one does not forget other people's problems even if one forgets one's own.
The vision council recommended to be "vigilant.. against..[ people] using drugs comming into communal spaces at gatherings". I'll leave it there.

Sorry dear Raven but someone who is IN LOVE with oneself and his/her world
is really living brightly and has no problem !... exactly as if you were in
love with someone... then you don't have any flu nor money trouble !... and
you love the entire world.
Those who have problems must understand why and what is the lesson. They may
need assistance but first to be with themselves deeply, so alone.
You forget that the Rainbow family is called "Rainbow family of LIVING
LIGHT" and not the Rainbow family of living dark. If there is a "next wave
of refugees" to come, fortunately there are also still some people who want
the Paradise without drugs and are ready to play like children, far from
adults problems or from a serious idea of the problems.

Are drugs, alcohol, individualism the new "sacred" values ?
I might be "has been" but I thought the values we were gathering for were Love, Peace, Understanding and Consciousness !
Nobody's perfect ... okay ... is it a good reason to expose all our "imperfections" to the view of everyone ? I've met quite a lot of ancients from the rainbow and remember those who could not help from taking drugs, or smoking or whatever were hiding themselves to do what they have to do, very conscious of the image they could give if doing it in front of everybody.
Why have Conscious, Respect and Intelligence disapeared ? It's now the reign of Tolerance ... in spite it is not a value in itself, where does it lead to ? Compromises ... why not, but it seems to me it's the door open to all dangers and weacknesses. Shall we tolerate nazis, criminals as they are and accept to be penetrated by their values because part of the Big Family ? Shall we tolerate campers or walkers who would use the main fire to make BBQ ? Where are the limits, where are the bounders ? Drugs are natural ... okay, but meat is natural, shit is natural, sex is natural, shouting is natural, violence is natural ... why not all of this in the main circle ?
Never ending discussions and problems, but probably the end of the Rainbow ...
